I am German and yes I wear those every day … some people wear an Iron Cross because of Cosplay (me too) but I also wear it because I love my country … and the Iron Cross is NOT a symbol of Nazis.It was and is an award. And that one you can see in my picture (or most people wear for cosplay) isn’t even a real one … it is just a copy.
And the Kroner is just another thing that should prove love to another country (and if it is just fandom stuff)

ssssure it’s a symbol that predates its nazi use but it also.. was used… by the nazis, its common popularized use IS the third reich use of it, it is most strongly associated with its uses as part of nazi uniforms and nazi medals/awards and nazi flags
like! PEOPLE REACT TO IT AS IF IT IS PRIMARILY A RACIST SYMBOL FOR A REASON that reason is that, popularly, that’s what it’s seen as!! it’s STILL used by neo-nazi groups to evoke that same meaning
is it unfortunate that association with the nazis has marked and effectively tarnished pre-nazi symbols like the iron cross and swastika: yes
is it more important to reclaim those symbols than to show tact and respect to those made uncomfortable by it: what the hell, /no/
I unfortunetly get the “That is Nazi” comment alot when I am wearing my Iron Cross, and I wish people knew what it was so I do not have to explain to every person who says that comment.
